Think of it as speed-running, most of it has to do with remembering where to go. It might seem hard at first, but doing practise runs is a good way to memorize each level's route and enemy locations. You can also try taking notes to get a better understanding. The only trick to it is to save your battery till the very end and merely flash your camcorder in the mines for a split second to keep track of your location. Once you escape Val, holster your camera and, if done right, you should have about a quarter of your battery left.
