SCARFIOTTI- We're already at the edge of our budget for the Docks Environment.
EASTERMAN- It's a matter of paint. I want to call the boat "Angelina."
SCARFIOTTI- It's not historically accurate. We have photos of Salvatore Barbi's boat.
EASTERMAN- We're aiming at psychological accuracy. History is fungible, only the future is certain.
SCARFIOTTI- Who's Angelina?
EASTERMAN- A source of guilt, rage, and arousal. Salvatore's fourth wife and Franco's illicit lover.
SCARFIOTTI- He screwed his own mother.
EASTERMAN- Stepmother.
SCARFIOTTI- Still.
EASTERMAN- A boat is a powerful symbol, of death and escape, and of either a phallus or a womb. We have to be sure that this boat is the symbol of a womb.
SCARFIOTTI- Fine. You should know, the Board's pushing back on water.
EASTERMAN- The boat needs to be in water. Wombs are what.
SCARFIOTTI- What?
EASTERMAN- Wombs. What are they? They're wet. I want water.
SCARFIOTTI- We're in the desert.
(Scuffling, unintelligible speech)
EASTERMAN- Some liquid, then. Any liquid, I don't care."
