Think I've read the name somewhere in the game. The name may be pronounced that way, but it's spelled like this. If this is correct, then it should be corrected in the articles on this site.

If every single reference states Loutermilch than it's Loutermilch. That literally has nothing to do with how naming works. More importantly, his name throughout the game is Loutermilch, that's what we're looking at and that's how it works. As for your naming thing, names don't have to coincide with its origin, hence the many variations of John, Paul, etc. across other language forms.
I think that I've seen it spelled "Leutermilch" somewhere in the game, also it can be found spelled "Leutermilch" by other people on the internet too if you Google search it who may have also got it from where I got it in the game. I meant that it makes it more logical that it wouldn't be spelled "Loutermilch" if this spelling isn't used anywhere else, because why would the writer give the character a non/hardly-existant spelling of a last name, you get it? I would say that it would have to be confirmed by the developer to be able to definitively say what is the right spelling.
You mean that the way it is pronounced in the game is "Loutermilch"? If yes, that may be a common/the most common way to pronounce it in English, but that doesn't have to dictate the way that it's spelled.
What I meant was that (it seems to me that) every character in Outlast 1/Outlast 2 who has a German last name has an unanglified one, and there are a (maybe unusually) high amount of them in the Outlast games.
If you recall seeing Loutermilch spelled differently in-game, you should probably provide evidence in that case. But it'd just be a lot easier if Loutermilch's page remains the same as it is now since that is the most common way the character is referred to in the game.
Will, but have to play through the game again. I have to get a few achievements anyway, will try to get proof in those playthroughs.
This is stupid. Stop wasting time and stop talking about this. It's Loutermilch, end of discussion. At most, once you provide evidence, we'll mention in the trivia that it's misspelled once as "Leutermilch". But nothing beyond that.
Agreed. This really isn't something to make a big fuss over, Lendox.
I don't know, it may be stupid to you, but I would say that a wiki has some kind of representative function, and because of that information on it should be as accurate as possible.
If the game itself says his name is "Loutermilch" (which it does), then it already is "as accurate as possible".
I said that there may be a dispute of the sources the spelling comes from, so (assuming again that there are two spellings in the game), maybe one source could be deemed more important than the other, e.g. the writer over whoever else wrote the rest of it.
It's Loutermilch. Every single major account in the game says Loutermilch.
EDIT: As a matter of fact, I'm gonna go ahead and shut down this thread because I'm so confident this discussion is over. Again, if you really care enough, you can find proof that there's multiple spellings in the game and mention it in the trivia.
