TRANSCRIPTION OF INTERROGATION OF REAGENT 1733 BY OBSERVING SCIENTIST (UNNAMED)
EDITED FOR CLARITY
[minutes 33-36]
OBSERVING SCIENTIST- Easterman allows you self-expression inside the cells because we want to understand how the therapy is affecting you.
REAGENT 1733- I've been expressing myself.
OBSERVING SCIENTIST- These words, they're some sort of poem?
REAGENT 1733-Sure.[sic] Yeah. A poem.
OBSERVING SCIENTIST- What does "Regret" mean to you?
REAGENT 1733- She says regret's a good thing. You shouldn't avoid regret, because it just means you could have made another choice. If you've got regrets, you've got free will.
OBSERVING SCIENTIST- She? Who says this?
REAGENT 1733- My friend.
OBSERVING SCIENTIST- She must have a name.
REAGENT 1733- We have numbers here.
(Rustling, equipment prepared.)
REAGENT 1733- No! No! Don't, please. Amelia. Her name's Amelia."
