SUB: LELAND COYLE INTERVIEW
Arranged to meet Sergeant Leland Coyle at bar on Route 177 under pretense of bribery.
Coyle was known and well-liked by bar staff and customers. Drank heavily and partook of nuts on table. Discovered my canard within minutes and conversation took decidedly violent turn.
I had the feeling of being a crippled mouse used as a plaything by a tomcat. I believe that if he had intended to kill me, I would not be writing now.
Subject's charisma was, however, undeniable. Sergeant Leland Boyle[sic] highly recommended for PROJECT LATHE.
I have two broken fingers, lots of bruising, pissing blood. Taking a week's recovery in Wichita.
TRANSCRIPTION NOTE: Typo in Telex above stet, Clyde Perry typo "Boyle" for "Coyle" likely an effect of broken fingers, or inebriation."
