Not Enough Player Level
Lets get the basics under your belt, and then we can think about medication.
You have to learn to crawl before you can run, honey.
You're not quite ready yet.
Aren't you an eager beaver? You need a little more experience before we open the medicine cabinet.
Try a trial or two, and then we can get into drugs.
I know, honey, drugs are fun and useful. But you need to get a little experience first.
Not Enough Player Vouchers
You'll need to earn some vouchers before I can open the pharmacy.
We can't just give them away! What do you think this is, Red Russia?
This is America. You pay for your drugs here.
Don't think those puppy dog eyes are gonna get you free medication. You need vouchers.
Mother Barlow didn't raise any dummies. You need vouchers if you want treats.
Get some vouchers and come back.

Are you feeling okay?
You're looming.
I hope there's something I can help you with?
Why, you look just awful.
Do you need some help, dear?
What a mess.
Well goodness.
Don't be shy, dear.
I can't help if you don't talk to me.

Oh goodness, just look at you, you poor dear. What ever did you do to end up here? Well. I'll bet Doctor Easterman takes a personal interest in your case. He really is a miracle worker. And of course I'll do my part. I'm Nurse Barlow. My Christian name is Emily but I prefer "Nurse," if it's all the same to you.

What can I offer?
Okay, dear, tell me what you need.

What do you need?
Let's see what's in the medicine cabinet.

I hope I have something that can help.
Let's get you healthy.
So. What do you want to try today?
Would you like some drugs?
Let's get you feeling nice.
How can we improve you?

What can I do for you?
Yes, dear?
Well?

Alright then?

Prescriptions[]

Purchasing Prescriptions
I hope you can handle it.
If your heart explodes be sure to tell a doctor.
You have to take care of your heart. It's my second favorite organ.
Well bless your heart.
You may experience manic thoughts and taste burning metal. That's normal.
Those may affect your dreams.
That'll put some hair on your chest.
Now don't take those on an empty stomach.
That may cause slight incontinence.
I just love a toned specimen.
Now they'll respect you.
If you notice yourself feeling more than ordinary rage and panic, do let me know.
That should sharpen you up.
Everybody needs a little pep now and then.
Almost better than coffee, isn't it?
That'll make a better you.
That should solve all your problems.
Maybe you'll feel more like yourself now.
That'll fix you up.
Wonderful choice. What's the worst that could happen?
Just what Doctor Easterman ordered.
That should get your iron up.
You look better already.
Well now I expect you'll be just fine.

Player Level Dialogue
1-5 (Loop) You're special.
Why don't you go get a little therapy?
You won't get better shooting the breeze with me.
That's all for now.
I think it's time you got back to the treatment.
Okay, that's all.
1 Oh, you want to talk? Just to talk? God bless, I knew you were special. Sometimes you just need to hear a friendly voice, right? A little reminder that your friends at Murkoff care about you. I'm here any time.
I was hoping you'd want to talk. I know new experiences can be frustrating, or even frightening. If you need a kind a shoulder to cry on, I'm always here.
You have to trust Dr. Easterman. He built all of this, and he built it just for you. Do you think anybody has ever had a doctor care for them that much?
2 I feel so lucky to be alive in an age of miracles, to be exposed to men like Doctor Easterman. You have to think of the therapy like you're getting a tooth drilled, or some minor surgery. It can be a little uncomfortable, but you'll feel so much better when it's over.
3 Sometimes I see Doctor Easteman by the coffee urn, or the water cooler, and I linger. I pour a little extra sugar in my coffee and stir it slowly. I'm not nosy, just curious.
Doctor Easterman was so upset by the news he heard out of Korea. Some of our boys came back changed, like they were different people. And Easterman thought-- well if you can change people for the worse, why couldn't you change them for the better?
I think its so important to be optimistic.
4 I guess by now you've seen some of the earlier candidates for the therapy. Gooseberry, Coyle, all the experimental population. Poor dears. I think they just didn't try hard enough.
But as old Mother Barlow said, "waste not want not." We can use those earlier mistakes to help shape your healing.
We just want you to get better.
5 I shouldn't be telling you this, but you're getting extra attention from the doctors. I think that you're something special. It's almost like you've done this before. But the repetition is key to the therapy. How else are you going to learn?
6-8 (Loop) Keep at it, you're doing great. ( 2 )
I'm glad you're here. ( 2 )
I should probably get back to my pills. ( 2 )
That's enough chit-chat for now.
Bless your heart. ( 2 )
Idle hands...
6 You're going to be a whole new you. And that means letting go of the broken you that you used to be. Don't avoid your old memories. Face them, hold those memories close. But you have to think of them like carbuncles. Pus-filled infections to just... scrub away.
7 It's wonderful the progress you're making. I wish there was some way to show you how grateful I am for all the hard work you're doing. You're going to be part of the American Century. You and Murkoff... The wonderful things you'll bring to the world... You're going to make history.
8 Do you want to know why you're doing so well? All these pharmaceuticals, they're certainly a miracle. But your brain. Your endocrine system. They're the greatest drug store ever created. A gift from God that Doctor Easterman teaches us to unwrap. He says that when God gave us evolution, it wasn't just an explanation, it's a set of tools. It's a way for us to become more than we are.
9-12 (Loop) Why are you talking to me when you could be working on getting better? ( 2 )
Let's not waste any more of the good Doctor's time.
Life is short. And yours is only going to be shorter if you don't get to work.
Why don't you get back to the therapy? ( 2 )
That's enough chit-chat. Chop-chop. ( 2 )
That's enough. Off you go.
9 You haven't been complaining, have you? Can you imagine? Like somebody who would unwrap a present on Christmas morning and then write Santa a letter of complaint. Well somebody has been complaining, and not just about the lack of sun. Doctor Easterman is such a gentle soul, the poor dear is just coming to pieces about it.
10 Oh. Sorry, you've caught me a little bit off-guard. I was just thinking about you. About how, if you could only try a little harder. We can't make miracles if you don't do your part. If the boys upstairs think Doctor Easterman's program isn't working, they'll take away funding and resources. And then the therapy will be less effective. It's a vicious circle. And who's going to suffer for it? You are, that's who.
11 It's getting worse in there, isn't it? More dangerous? The more they pull from Doctor Easterman's funding, the more the Experimental Population gains control of the Trials. There's only so much we can do from the outside. You have to commit. You have to show that the therapy works. You need to be getting better. You need to be better at getting better.
12 Thank god you're still alive. I'm wilting out here without any sunlight, but in the Trials... You have to put your entire heart and soul into this. This is a matter of life and death, not just for you, but for our culture, for the American way of life. You don't really think all of this, all these millions of dollars were just so one individuall hobo could feel better? We're trying to make the future. You can die, or you can be part of it.
13-16 (Loop) My head hurts.
It's too bright in here.
I'm not in the mood.
I'm... under the weather.
If I could just rest... ( 2 )
So tired.
13 I've tried so hard to be polite. Efficient. But sitting here all day. No windows. No sun. If I started taking pills, to keep my weight down, to keep my interest up. Nobody could blame me... I shouldn't bring my personal life into this. Especially not in front of somebody like you. My headaches are no concern so long as my hand's steady on the syringe, right? They're just pills. Just a little habit. Like biting your fingernails or chewing gum.
14 It's almost hard to recognize you now. Do you know what Easterman calls you? Children of the Bomb. The first generation of the atomic age. You could... Goodness. My head is absolutely pounding. Who are you? I barely know what I'm saying. I could take one pill, couldn't I? Just one, to even me out. But I shouldn’t. I feel like a robot. A vending machine in a dark, sunless room. Put a coin in and get your candy.
15 Do you believe in it, still? Is Easterman making you better? I'm... sick. And I don’t want to take the pills anymore but Easterman says they're fine. Do I trust him? You can tell me what you think. This isn't a test. Murkoff's not listening. Are the drugs making you better? Can I trust them? I... I shouldn't burden you...
16 Do you want to know a secret? The Korean brainwashing was a lie. Those pilots? They were talking about a real American chemical warfare program. God, my head. The brainwashing story was just a convenient cover-up. Maybe brainwashing's not the point any more. You should see how that German's eyes light up when they talk about side effects. Heaven's only three nails away.
17-20 (Loop) You're so close to perfect. ( 2 )
I can barely look you in the eye, you're so wonderful. ( 2 )
I never understood but I now I think I might.
You're going to do wonderful things. ( 2 )
My clever spider. ( 2 )
My little lamb.
17 Oh good, you're back. I'm so embarrassed, I hope I wasn't too much of a wet blanket. I was a little under the weather, but I'm oh so much better now. Turns out I need my medicine as much as you do. My mistake was trying to control everything. But you know all about that, don't you? Giving up control, giving up everything, and becoming... something more. Heaven's only three nails away.
18 It's not you any more, is it? Who are you? And then who are you now? And now? I feel like I'm looking at an eclipse, like I'll go blind looking at you and not even know it. The more they turn you into something more, the less all the shame and shock and hypocrissy works on you. And they turn up the volume and more beauty leads to more beauty. It's a vicious cycle. It's perfect.
19 I feel like I'm looking at an angel. At the lamb of god. Like sunlight through a spider's web. Or, no-- like the sun itself. All I wanted down here is sunlight. And here you are. Someday I'll be watching the news and history will change. And I'll know it's you. And I won't tell anybody. But I'll feel your sunshine warming my skin.
20 You're going to earn your freedom. Not just yours, but everybody's freedom. I just know it. But part of me doesn't want to see you go. I know it's selfish. If you're going to walk out those doors, are you ready accept the burden of history? You'll be like the sun. You can make things grow. Or you can burn every last bit of it to ash.

Player Level Dialogue
5-8 (Loop) You shouldn't trust strange women. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
If you see something, say something. ( 2 )
I never liked rats.
Rumors are like social diseases. Be careful what you do with your mouth. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
You have to trust the people taking care of you.
Why don't you get back to the Trials. ( 2 )
5 You look upset. Maybe you've heard the rumors, about some... rat in the walls. Rumors are all they are. And you wouldn't spread some silly rumor.
6 In the Bible, God warned Moses to warn against slander, because it endangers the life of your neighbor. You have to be careful with rumors.
9 - 12 (Loop) Just have some pills and relax. ( 2 )
You should get back to the therapy. ( 2 )
Excuse me, but I think that woman is a B I T chuh. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
You wouldn't trust a rat, would you? ( 2 )
Dr. Easterman will fix this.
How could it come to this. ( 2 )
9 I learned when I was young that anybody asking you to keep a secret is lying to you. Might want to talk you into doing something they also want to keep a secret. Be careful who you trust.
12 This whole Amelia situation will pass. It will just be one more unfortunate thing, like... like Cuba or Flight Three Twenty. You just keep your head down and keep going and in a few weeks or months or years, you'll be back to your same happy self.
13-16 (Loop) You can trust Dr. Easterman. ( 2 )
Take your pills and do your therapy. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
I need some to think. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
In a few weeks I'll feel better. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
Why are you talking to me when you could be improving yourself? ( 2 )
Just work on getting better. ( 2 )
14 I don't know why I let myself get worked up over this troublesome little rat. We just have to trust Dr. Easterman. Even when it gets a little scary down here, it always works out wonderfully in the end. Oh, these marvelous pills.
15 One of the others told me this Amelia character was on the radio in their cell. Can you imagine? And that some of the other Reagents would actually listen? Would let that filth into their minds? Just dreadful.
16 I don't mind telling you the talk around the water cooler is getting rather tense. Like something might happen sooner than later. Have you heard something was going to happen? You'd tell me, wouldn't you?
17-20 (Loop) You belong here. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
This is your home. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
If you ever leave me... ( 2 )
Why would you deny a gift? ( 2 ) ( 3 )
You should get back Dr. Easterman's program. ( 2 ) ( 3 ) ( 4 )
Let the Doctor take care of you. ( 2 ) ( 3 )
19 If you look in your heart, you know what's right. I believe that's true This Amelia woman. This rat in the walls. She scares you, doesn't she? Because you know she doesn't mean you any good. Please don't trust her. Don't let her talk you into something you'll regret for the last few minutes of your painful life.
20 If you trust that woman, you'll die.
