ARCHETYPE
Sadomasochist Paranoiac. Prior to LATHE Phase One, patients at Mount Massive facility were selected for their paranoid tendencies; higher resting amygdala activity indicated better chance of external scan of orbitofrontal cortex, IE, "Mind Reading" using detailed angiography.
AUGMENTATIONS
Subjects have attempted to create personal Faraday Cages by pushing nails, wire, and scavenged bits of metal into their skin. (Leading to Avellanos's oft-repeated "paincushion" joke.)
PSYCHOLOGY
We've coined a phrase, "The Sinyala Paradox," to describe the relief the violently paranoid experience when all of their worst and most absurd fears are confirmed by experience.
In some instanced, Pouncers have been "moving the goalpost" of their paranoid fantasies, inventing ever-worse future possibilities as circumstances worsen. They are, like many violent people, perfect victims. As with many ambush predators, can be discouraged with a sharp rap to the nose.
